BMAA Council Elections
The BMAA Board of Directors, known as the Council, is made up of up to eight volunteer members. Each member serves a term of up to three years. They may stand for re-election for a further term after they have completed their first full term. If they choose not to stand they automatically retire as a Director.
This year there are four Directors who are required to stand down or seek re-election. These are:
Rob Hughes, elected in 2014.
Terry Viner, elected in 2014.
Andy Aiken, appointed to fill a casual vacancy in 2016, until 2017.
Spencer Harvey, appointed to fill a casual vacancy in 2015, until 2017.
Additionally Patricia Mawuli Porter, elected 2016, resigned from the Board in May 2017 and so leaves another vacancy. Consequently there are five places on the Board that can be contested by members seeking election.
If you want to stand for election to the BMAA Council you will need to submit, in hard copy, a signed nomination form before 1600 hrs on the 15th September 2017. You must also submit electronically your supporting wording, your proposer's and seconder's supporting wording and an image of yourself that will be used to support your nomination. Full details are on the form which you can download below.
Details provided by nominees and their supporters will be published on this web site on the 15th September after the nomination window closes. If more nominations are received than there are available places on the Board there will be an election. Details of how to take part in an election will be published on this web site and in the BMAA's magazine, Microlight Flying.
