Following successful negotiation with the CAA, the BMAA is pleased to announce an extension to the period within which a check flight may be conducted following a permit inspection. The period is extended from 1 calendar month to 2 calendar months with immediate effect.
We anticipate that this change will significantly reduce the problem of inspections expiring prior to a check flight being conducted due to poor weather or check pilot availability.
Owners may pre-empt their permit expiry, with no loss of validity, if both the inspection and check flight occur within the 2 calendar months prior to the expiry date.
There is also no longer a 28 day deadline to send the application paperwork to the BMAA, although the Permit won't be revalidated until it has been!
