BMAA AGM 2017

BMAA AGM 2017

In the last edition of MF we announced plans to move the AGM date to coincide with the Popham microlight trade fair. The reason, member attendance at recent AGMs has been dropping to the extent that the 2016 AGM didnít have sufficient members to be quorate and your Council were looking at ways to make the AGM more accessible so as to attract at least the minimum number. A good motive, but as member and ex-Council member Rick Goddin has pointed out, not in line with the Articles of Association that govern the way that the BMAA has to be run. The Articles call for an AGM in each calendar year and so there has to be one in 2017 to comply. So, to comply with the Articles, there will be an AGM in 2017. It will be held on the 16th December in Deddington, Oxfordshire. Further details of time and place, together with an Agenda, will be published well in advance.

Council elections

Because the plans for an AGM have changed there will now be an election process for Council membership as usual. It will not be postponed until 2018 as previously planned.

Nominations are sought from BMAA members wishing to stand as Directors of the BMAA starting from the 2017 AGM. The process for nomination is described in the BMAA Council Membership Nomination Form which is published on the BMAA web site, or please request a copy by email from the BMAA Office. Nominations must be returned, fully completed, no later than 1600 hours on the 15th September 2017. Download nomination form.

If there are more nominations than places available on the Council an election will be held and nomineesí details will be published on the BMAA web site from 16th September. Voting will take place in December ahead of the AGM.
