World Champions!

World Champions!

We did it! The British Microlight Team are the best in the world - winners of the gold medal at the 2016 FAI World Microlight Championships. The results included:

Team:
Gold: Team GBR

AL2 (2 seat fixed wing)
Gold: Paul Dewhurst & Paul Welsh

Paul Dewhurst becomes the most successful microlight pilot ever with 10 gold international medals.

WL1 (solo flexwing)
Gold: Richard Rawes
Silver: Colin Johnson

Colin finished only 17 points behind Richard in his first ever international competition. Richard has now won 7 gold medals at international level.

AL1 (solo fixed wing)
Bronze: Chris Wills

Chris was in gold medal position with one task to go and unfortunately was not able to continue due to personal reasons. If he had flown on the last day, the gold would surely have been his.

Very many congratulations to the British Microlight team - to all those who took part. A special mention should go to Emily Hodgson who finished 7th in the class WL2 (2 seat flexwing) with her father as her navigator.

Team GB are the best in the world. British Microlighting once again is the world's best!
